The Tears will Stop and the Joy will Return

Bible Journaling with Grace & Salt ink | inkDori"Blessed are you who weep now, for you shall laugh." Luke 6:21b ~ sometimes it's hard to believe the tears will stop and the laughter will return. But they will. Ecclesiastes 3 says "For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven:" v4 "A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn and a time to dance;" when you are flooded by tears, it's hard to ever imagine laughing or dancing again. But they come. This verse promises the time of tears ends and the time of laughter and dancing returns/begins. With time and healing, they come. One of my favourite worship bands right now is United Pursuit and in there song "Let it happen" are the beautiful lyrics : "...he calls each one of us, by our names to come away. And he whispers to your heart, to let it go and be alive." And this morning as I've been reading through Luke that's really resonated. Sometimes we need to let it go and let Jesus take whatever we are holding on to so tightly in our tears. Let go of the pain, the hurt, the rejection, the loss, the broken heart - whatever it is that has us in tears, stopping us from living our lives in joy. To let go of the tears, to let go of the mourning and take hold of Jesus's hand instead and let him lead us into new life. That's not to say we ignore or deny what has happened, it's part of you and shaping you into who you are - but we shouldn't let us hold us in a place of tears forever.
